You are a newcomer in a small seaside town where people vanish at night. By day the town votes someone out, at night the mafia takes someone. No other players and no host needed: every resident has a routine, their own words at the town meeting and their own secrets. This is Mafia for one player, and the only way to crack it is to pay attention.
The heart of the game is the loop. Killed, voted out, or the town has fallen: the day starts over, the town repeats everything exactly, and you remember everything you saw. Hide by the victim's house at night and you will see the killer. Compare where people say they were with where you saw them, and catch the lie.
But the town does not trust memories: you can only accuse with what you saw in this loop.
In the morning and afternoon pick a place on the map and see who is there. You can talk to one resident: they will share a rumor if they know one.
In the evening, at the town meeting, everyone says where they were; lies are marked in red. Accuse a resident, and all the evidence of this loop goes against them, or stay silent.
At night hide by a house: you will see who comes out and who comes by. If the mafia comes there, you will be spotted, but you will remember the killer. Vote out all the mafia and the town is saved.
The campaign has twelve towns, from five residents and one mafioso to twelve residents and three mafiosi. The town of the day is the same for everyone. Your notebook keeps the memory between loops: who was where, what they said, who was seen at night. The fewer loops, the more stars.
